I’m truly delighted to announce that my poem, “Construction/Response” was chosen by guest editor Adrian Rice for inclusion in Prime Number Magazine issue 283 – which is now live!
This poem began over 15 years ago and went through dozens of different forms and approaches and title changes. For several years, it was called Laws of Diffusion and included a lot of references to physics and differential equations, which are still reflected in the individual section titles. It’s a poem about a father and daughter, and a poem about grief, but it’s also a poem about communication and finding ourselves in other people and a love that rebuilds itself over time in many different forms – just like the poem.
I guess sometimes it just takes that long to be able to look back and see the missing pieces.
It’s a great feeling to see this poem ‘finished’ and out in the world, especially knowing the wonderful home it’s found with Press53 in Prime Number Magazine. So today I’m flush with gratitude and hope you enjoy the poem and the entire issue, which is filled with some really incredible poems and stories.
